The iPhone 4 is here at last!
Well here you go guys, the new iPhone 4 is among us and to say it is creating a buzz is possibly just a little understatement! The engineers and designers at Apple haven’t started from the drawing board with this fantastic piece of equipment though as we all know, they started with at least three years of experience designing and building these phones and everything they have learnt so far has been given to us in this brand new and very sleek iPhone 4. All of their expertise, (and you have to admit there’s a lot of it with the guys at Apple) has been contained in a stunning little enclosure and boasts being a mere 9.3 millimeters thin meaning the new Apple iPhone 4 can also claim among other things, the title of the world’s thinnest Smartphone.
Have you ever heard of aluminosilicate glass? Well, I have to admit I hadn’t myself until now but after a little research I can tell you that it is the same type of glass used in high speed trains and the windshields of helicopters and it is between two glossy panels of this super glass, that the breakthrough technology iPhone 4 has to offer is situated! ! It is chemically strengthened to be 20 times stiffer and 30 times harder than plastic so the iPhone 4 is ultra durable and more scratch resistant than ever whilst also being recyclable!
Now how cool is that?
The iPhone 4 has a superb 960 by 640 backlit LCD display, with a pixel density of 326 pixels per inch making the iPhone 4 amongst other things the highest resolution phone screen EVER! This is a massive achievement for Apple who has remarkably developed pixels so small that the human eye cannot distinguish between the individual pixels as they are a microscopic 78 micrometers across! As you can imagine, it is because of this remarkable achievement that we are now in a position to own a stunning piece of equipment that boasts remarkably sharp text and incredibly vivid graphics. Add that together with the IPS technology also contained in the iPhone 4 (which provides excellent color and contrast from any viewing angle) and you have a remarkable little phone that really does seem unbeatable!
On their quest for building a phone that offers everything we could possibly need from a phone and more, Apple have also created their very own alloy and forged it to be 5 times stronger than standard steel. It is on this CNC-machined band that all of the components for the iPhone 4 are mounted and it is the band itself that allows the iPhone 4 to have such an impressive structural rigidity and an incredibly thin and refined design. On top of that, this steel band also functions as both of the iPhone 4’s antennas.
The A4 chip in the iPhone 4 (which is also used in the new Apple iPad) has been designed by the engineers to be a remarkably powerful, yet remarkably power efficient mobile processor. It is because of this chip that we can easily perform complex jobs on the go like video editing, placing FaceTime calls and multitasking whilst maximizing battery life and all of this is done on a sleek little gadget in the palm of your hand instead of at home on your home PC!
If gaming is an important feature in a phone for you, you will be extremely happy to know that the iPhone 4 is also the first phone to be built with a built-in, three-axis gyroscope that when paired with accelerometers, makes iPhone 4 capable of advanced motion sensing such as user acceleration, rotation rate and angular velocity! If the terminology confuses you a little like it did me, it basically means that the iPhone 4 has more motion gestures and greater precision giving you a much better gaming experience than you’ve ever had before!
Having a good camera has always been a deciding factor for me when buying a phone and I have to admit the iPhone 4 doesn’t disappoint in that department either! The camera function on the iPhone 4 shoots beautiful 5-megapixel photos and stunning HD video and has an advanced backslide illumination sensor which captures perfect images even in low light settings. It has a dual purpose built in LED flash that works as a flash when taking pictures and stays on to light up the scene when shooting video so it definitely ticks all the boxes whichever function you’re using. Because the iPhone 4 has a built-in camera on the front it of it, it also makes it perfect for making Face-Time calls and shooting self portraits!
The lists of great features just go on and on with the iPhone 4 and another of these is the iPhone 4’s two separate microphones. The main mic is situated at the bottom of the iPhone 4 next to the dock connector and is used when making phone calls, dictating memos and other voice commands but there is also a second mic built into the top of the phone near to the headphone jack. This second mic is responsible for FaceTime calls and making your phone calls a much better experience! It works in conjunction with the main mic at the bottom and suppresses distracting background noise such as loud conversations, traffic or loud music so that every conversation you have will be a quiet one!
In a nutshell, everything you could possibly need from a great phone and computer can now fit snugly into the palm of your hand and that is thanks to the brand new Apple iPhone 4! Apple iPhone 3G Discontinued Tuesday 25th May 2010
Every year a new iPhone model will be introduced to the smartphone world, with older iPhone models becoming more scarce until it is discontinued.
With talk of the new iPhone 4G to emerge very soon Apple have discontinued the iPhone 3G from their stores, so all in all it looks like the end of the road for the entry level iPhone model, and prices dropping on the iPhone 3Gs it looks like this will now become the entry level iPhone taking the place of the trusty 3G leaving a ready space for the arrival of the new 4G model.

New iPhone 4G
Apple are soon to release the iPhone 4G with new features and specification so get ready for the best iPhone yet, with an improved graphics chipset and faster processor (possible dual core processing) the iPhone will have blistering performance and will be ideal for people who love playing games on their iPhone or browsing the internet. Some have speculated of a longer lasting removable battery to improve usage times, a front facing camera (video calling?), an OLED screen and higher specification camera but we will have to wait and see, whatever Apple decide to put inside their new iPhone 4G i have no doubt it will be a real winner, so make sure you get your shiny new FREE IPHONE 4G when they are released.
Alleged fourth generation prototype inspected
After the gadget website Gizmodo reported that they had obtained a fourth generation iPhone and stripped it down to find out the new changes from the iPhone 3G, here is a list of the differences they found
- A front facing camera possible for video calls from the iPhone.
- The usual camera at the back has a larger lens and a flash.
- A micro-sim instead of the standard sim.
- They reported that the resolution looked higher than that of its predecessor.
- A component that seemed to cancel out secondary noise.
- Separate buttons for decreasing or increasing the volume.
- Metallic buttons for the power, mute and volume.
